On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

I am off Oxycontin just after a month of being on it for back & Leg pain. I had lower back surgery to releive the pain in my leg. I am off Oxycontin for a week so far and I am still feeling bad. I finally have part of my appetite back but now I am having problems sleeping. I have never heard of Oxycontin until my doctor prescribed it for my pain. If I would have known about it I whould never have taken it.

Hello,May God Bless the families with comfort and healing of those who has lost loved ones to the abuse of Oxycontin.I am 37 years old.I was in an automobile accident at 14 yrs of age.Breaking my back and paralyzing me from the waist down. The Drs.gave me a 1 in a million chance to walk and probably never to carry chidren. With 2 back surgeries and a reconstructed right knee the Grace of God and his miracle I received my 1 in a million.I now walk today and have 2 grown beutifull children. With 3 adorable granchildren But I live with severe chronic pain that I have suffered with all of my life. I have taken many different pain narcotics for years. To help me try and gain controll over my pain and try and live a normal life as possible. When Oxycontin was approved by the FDA I considerd it to be a miracle drug.Helping to manage my pain more than any other narcotic pain medicine ever did.I think a way of helping to end the abuse of this medication would be if the FDA would allow only qualified pain specialist to prescribe it.I see a Pain Specialist who knows what medications help with different types of pain. A regular family medicine Dr.does not know well controlled pain management. As a street drug I have learned it sells for a $1.00 a MG.Most MD's doesn't check out the patiance health background to see if prescribing Oxycontin is warranted for there patiance claiming to be in chronic pain.A pain specialist does.He requires all of your medical records and health history to see wether or not the use of Oxycontin should be used for pain management. Taking Oxycontin has been a miracle drug for me.Taken correctly as prescribed to help control my cronic pain the worry of addiction to this drug does not concern me.I take this medication to be able to manage my pain.I can do things with my grandchildren and am not so deppressed from having to live with cronic pain everyday of my life. When people take this drug to feel 'high' or to alter there mood thats addiction. If the FDA was to controll what Drs. are qualified to prescibe Oxycontin maybe we wouldn't hear of so many deaths related to a drug that is miraculous for pain mangement. So many stories have been told telling of the dangers of this drug and its addictive tendacies .Not many are told of the benefits for people like me that live in cronic pain.Because of Oxycontin my pain is controlled and am able to enjoy my life better because of it.Someone who claims is in cronic pain that does take Oxycontin and sells it on the street couldn't really be in that much pain.To be selling a medication that does give so many cronic pain suffers releif.Just doesn't sound logical to want to live with the pain.May the Drs. in Amreica help control the usage of Oxycontin only prescribing to those that have the medical background to require it for pain mangement. God Bless ,

Hello, I am a 30yr. old mother of two young babies and the sister of my 21yr. old brother, whom I think of as my baby also.I had heard of oxy but not known the severity and dangers of this drug until watching a MTV special. My heart gos out to all the families and friends involved in this. Thanks to the awareness fromMTV and this web sight I can now feel more aware and hopefully help steer my brother, whom is a recreational drug user, away from this drug. Once again, thank you to the families and friends for the awareness. And good luck to all who are winning the battle with this addiction.
