On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

So far I was having a good day until I got a disturbing call. I got a call from my freind Dannon on Brother Martin High School's football team. He told me that that morning the coach told everyone to sit down because he had an announcment to make. According to his announcment one of their fellow students died the night before from overdosing on OC's. That fellow student of their's happened to be a very close friend of mine. His name was Nick. It didn't hit me at first. . . I told Dannon maybe the football coach was playing with them about that because I had just talked to Nick the day before. I didn't think it was possible that that type of thing could've happened. I knew Nick was using heroine and I told him he should probably think about slowing his roll. I thought he would listen to me since we always thought of each other as brother and sister because I had been knowing him so long, but he didn't. The last time I talked to Nick face to face was at summer school. He was in my class and before I walked out the room on the last day of summer school he told me that I better call him soon. I told him I would and so I almost did the next day (day of his death) I almost finished dialing his number at 5:30 pm, but someone else called and I got distracted and forgot to call him. After, I came to find out about his death; I desparately needed someone to talk to so I called one of my old friends whom I hadn't talked to in a while. I found out that when I was about to call him the day of his death he was already dead. My anger and pain about Nick's death is directed towards the guy he had a job with who happened to always have the quick fix Nick needed because if he hadn't been there to give Nick that last quick fix, Nick would still be alive. But I need to come to understand that it was Nick's choice and I couldn't prevent it, but I will always still love Nick as my own brother and never forget him. I hope this story changes someone's view of trying to get a quick fix with OC's or any of the other strong perscription drugs out there because it may just be your LAST fix (which doesn't neccessarily fix anything). IN MEMORY OF NICK--my brother--RIP Nick

My younger brother is addicted to OxyContin. I have been trying to help him, but to no avail. He won't even admit to the problem. It is destroying his live. He still lives with our mother she also refuses to address the problem. My father passed 2 and a half years ago. He was suffering from terminal cancer and was prescribed oxycontin for the unbearable pain. This is when my brother started using. Shortly after my fathers passing I was helping clean my parents house. While in my brothers room, I found an empty bottle of oxycontin. It was not well hidden. I showed it to my mother. She was in total denial...Trying to expain away the problem. I told her and later my brother that this drug was addictive and had the same properties as heroine or any other opiate. This drug could kill him. They both denied the problem. It was just like talking to a wall. Today, my brother steals, is unemployed, and is badly addicted. I pray everyday that he will come out of it. At least admit that he is doing this drug and seek help. I have confronted him with what I know. He denies it. I have offered to help him many times. I told him I would pay for any rehab he needed and no one would know except the two of us and the rehab center. Still I watch him ruining his young life he is only 20. If anyone knows how I can do more to help him let me know. I hope one day I can write back and tell everyone that he is making a good life for himself.
