On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

Dear Edward, I am 28 years old and I just said goodbye to my best friend of 16 years at her funeral. She had open heart surgery about 4 years ago and every one was told she died of heart trouble but I have been spending time with her Husband and now I find out that she and he would spend every day in a fog thanks to Oxycontin. Before this I had never even heard of the stuff so I didn't understand what he was talking about. He told me they were stealing it from people they knew or they would go out and buy it for $20.00 a pill. By the time she died they were taking several a day. This is a girl who knew she was only to be on certain medications due to her heart. I feel most of all hurt and angry that she allowed herself to keep doing this until it killed her. I wonder what will become of her Husband because now he has a habit and I can't say goodbye to any more friends, It hurts to know she could have stopped and didn't. All through the funeral I was upset because I thought she died in pain and there was nothing I could do but it wasn't that at all, she died because it was easier to pop a pill than to live life. My only question is what do I do now? I grew up with both her and her husband and I have never done drugs I don't know what to do to get him help. What do I say? Thank you for putting up this site so that those of us who don't do drugs can try to understand what is so great that you could kill yourself for a pill. Kate

My friend, Sean Walker, 24, of Valdosta, GA died February 18, 2002 from Oxycontin. He apparently crushed a pill and snorted 1/3 of the pill along with some other people. He had also been using cocaine. His brother said that he went to his room and when it got quiet, he got worried so he went to check on Sean. Sean was laying on the bed, barely breathing. He was taken to the hospital where he stopped breathing but the doctors were able to revive him. But Sean was brain dead, only one of his brain stems was showing any kind of activity. His organs slowly started to shut down. They took him off of life support the morning of February 18. He left behind 2 brothers, a sister, and a daughter.

I am very sorry for the loss of your son Eddy, I truly understand your hurt, confusion and pain. You see, last Wednesday, April 17, 2002 we buried my 26 year old cousin. He died at 2:30 a.m., Sunday, April 14, 2002. Like your son he had taken Xanax earlier that Saturday and then the Oxycontin along with alcohol. He was out at a club and his wife took him home because he was "passing-out" at the club. She went back to the club to meet some other friends and when she came home he was not breathing. By the time the ambulance got him to the hospital he was dead. I guess he was dead actually when she found him. This was a cousin that I grew-up with, we were raised like brother and sister. We were only 5 years apart. He leaves behind one 5 year old son and one 11 month old daughter and numerous family and friends that loved him so very much. I never knew much about this drug until now...and now is too late. I hope that your website is maybe teaching other kids and adults how dangerous Oxycontin is. People, kids and adults, just don't realize that this stuff will kill you....I didn't until last week. Once again, I am sorry for your loss. I hope that many will be touched and influenced by your website. If there is anything I can help with please let me know. Thank you so much, Hollie
