On April 29,2001 my big brother Nick Morton,21 died from a overdose on oxy's.He was full of life,a smile that ran for miles, his laugther can still be heard,he would never turn his back on a stranger,was always there for his family.He was the greatest person ever.I never got the chance to tell him how much i love him,let him know how proud i was for him.I am upset with my brotha for popping that pill instead of him living life,i am mad within myself for not being able to help him get help,i am pissed off with the state police from Wyoming County for not busting the person who sold the pill to my brothe,i hate the guy who sold Nicky the pill.But then again i need to try to look past all that anger that i hold inside and remember the memories that my brother and i shared,remember that there are still teenagers, young adults that are still abusing oxycontin in my small town, only a population of 767 and many other states and small towns. No one will ever know the pain that i go threw untill you lose someone who means the world to you.So hear i am now asking you that if you or someone know of anyone who is abusing oc's please get them help before it's to late.My brother and i just started to form the bond that i always wished for but yet it was still to late.Please get help,i wouldnt want to see a family go threw the pain that my family goes threw everyday. So please remember life is only short if you let it be and you are the person by which the action you take.Don't be stupid,if you can save a life then do so.REST in PEACE BROTHA.You will never be forgottin,I love and miss you dearly.-Y   Name:kim Email:[email protected] Type:Death Story Date:6/2/2002 The man i love died 5-5-02 from oxycontin related problems. He has been in cronic pain for years. In march he had back surgery and was prescribed oxycontin,diazapam,methocarbamol and nuratin He was addicted to pain meds from all the use after many years of trying to deal with the pain, and he had built up a high tollerance. He was getting worried that he was using too much but his doctor told him it would be ok, they would wean him off slowly when the surgerys were done.The night before my vacation he took oxycontin and his muscle relaxers and went to bed. We were planing to get up in the morning and go to seattle because he had a doctors appiontment, then we were going to the ocean and head up the coast. He was very excited to go on vacation.He never woke up. He had G.I. bleeding that we were not aware of. He aspirated in his sleep and was so relaxed that he had no gag reflex, they believe his lungs filled with liquid and he drowned, wich cut off oxygen to his brain. they said he was brain dead. he was in intensive care for a few days, but never regained conciousness, his brain herneaited and he died. My life is changed forever, all i can say is if you know someone who is on oxycontin make sure they know the risks, and if you suspect they are not taking it properly do something! I remember seeing my bro lying on his bed dead, calling 911. I never heard of this drug until that day. I thank Ed for this web page.I am only 16 yrs and try to inform my friends and other teenagers on this drug because I would never want to see a family go threw all the pain and hurt that we did. On July 20,2002 my mother is having a motorcycle run to benefit The New Hope Academy, a program to help teens and young adults get and stay off drugs.The run is in memory of my brother and all others who passed on from this drug. We would like to have a bullentin board posted with pictures of my brother and others who have passed on from oxycottin and/or herion.
