On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

i am 23 years old and used oxycontin for a year. i quit on october 13. i had no money to go to rehab, seeing as how i spent every dime i had on oc's. i am currently on the methadone maintenance treatment. its keeping me away from all the pills i was taking, but i guess i am still an addict, now addicted to methadone. i have to go to that damn clinic every morning, wait in line, talk to counselors, pay about 60 dollars a week, and pass drug tests every month. oxycontin was my own way of dealing with my problems, and mostly, my bi-polar and depression. my family, friends, and boyfriend pressure me to get off methadone, but with all of my current problems i am scared to death i may relapse and start taking oxy's again. im just not ready to stop taking methadone, but i know that eventually i will have to and its going to suck ass. anyone ever been on methadone before?

this is a true story that i have read in our newspaper. I live in nova scotia, canada, where oxycontin is on the rise. this is know around here as hillbilly heroine. A 42 year old mother of one, terminally ill cancer patient says she would rather die than ever take another oxycontin to kill her pain. She was a former paramedic and is advising others never to take the medication unless death is near or are willing to risk becomming addicted or a target of crime. she says withdrawal is worse than the pain from cancer itself. it is worse than the chemo for six months, worse than losing her hair twice. she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in the 1990's and was prescribed the new so called miracle drug to combat the severe pain. according to Purdue Pharma, two oxycontins is all she needed per day for effective pain relief because of the 12 hour release. she was sold 380 pills per month for several months 80 milligrams. she blames her doctor for turning her into a drug addict.she begged her to wean her off the oxys, but she finally gave up and signed herself into the local detox. she states coming off it was hard and it took her over a year to do so.the drug made her high and incoherent and felt she were in a fog, most times she couldn't remember how to walk let alone do much else, its like your floating, and u have no idea whats going on in the world. u just take one pill and all your pain goes away. while in drug rehab, she was prescribed methadone another strong narcotic , and going thru withdrawal was a nightmare. u get cramps in your legs, feet toes and head and the constant diarrhea, throwing up, anxiety shakes, and finally starts to shut down your organs. during this week, her ex boy friend was given a six month jail sentence after he attacked here on boxing day with a screwdriver. this assult came only five days after a cancerous tumor was removed from her bowel. he was also a drug addict and was fighting with her to get her oxycontin, at the time he was on another powerful pain killer demerol.although she still craves for oxy, she admits it is poison and it should not be on the market. we have had at least 17 sudden deaths in our area just last year caused by oxycontin. two weeks ago, her home was broken into and the only thing taken was her medication for cancer. i have been reading all the stories about oxycontin on the internet, and i would like to express my sympathy to anyone that has lost a loved one to this terrible drug.
