On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

WHAT A HORRIBLE JOKE ON PATIENTS. I WAS ONE THAT WAS PAYING CASH OUT OF POCKET FOR A DISEASE THAT I DO NOT EVEN HAVE. I KNOW THIS NOW THAT I AM OFF IT. I WAS PUT ON IT INITIALLY FOR INFLAMMATION OF LOWER BACK BONE. AS TIME WENT ON I STARTED HURTING ALL OVER TO THE POINT THAT I EVENTUALLY WANTED TO CHEW MY HANDS OFF LITERALLY. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FIBRO AND LOW AND BEHOLD THE PILLL PRESCRIBING INCREASED TO THE POINT THAT IT DROVE ME INSANE LITERALLY. AFTER A MONTH IN HOSPITAL I WAS OFF IT AND REMAIN SO. BUT I REMEMBER THE HORRIBLE PAIN ALL OVER MY BODY. IT WAS SO HORRIBLE. MY FAMILY WAS AMAZED AT HOW I WAS MENTALLY, EMOTIONALLY, AND PHYSICALLY. THEY DID NOT KNOW IT WAS THE MEDICINE AT THE TIME AND ACTUALLY THOUGHT I WAS GOING INSANE. I COULD NOT SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING EITHER. IT HAS TAKEN A YEAR FOR MY MIND TO CLEAR AND FOR MY BODY TO START HEALING AFTER GETTING OFF THIS HORRIBLE DRUG. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH HELL AND BACK AND SO HAS MY FAMILY. MY FAMILY SAYS THEY NOW HAVE THEIR WIFE AND MOTHER BACK. I THANK GOD I DO NOT HURT LIKE I DID WHILE ON THIS STUFF. I THANK GOD I AM OFF IT.

I found out my fiance was addicted to Oxy's about 1 year ago. He tried to quit cold turkey, and of course that didn't work. What did I know. He continued to use, without my knowledge. Again i found out a few months later that he had been using the whole time. Lies, money stolen & the constant drama he was putting us through. He finally went on Buprenex & we started going to NA meetings. It seemed like it was finally going to work. He got mentally hooked on the Buprenex, going through a weeks worth in about 2 days. Then another relapse, then rehab, relapse, then halfway house, & just finding out he has never quit using. i don't know who he is at all. Liar, thief, manipulator. We are not together anymore, and his family has finally cut him out. He is now in rehab again. This totally breaks my heart because this is not the person I know & love. He was the absolute love of my life. He has thrown everything away for Oxy's. He is a complete stranger. I want to help him, but know that I can't. Anyone have advice? E-mail me.

I, as well as my friends, abused oxycontin for about a 2 years. I was able to quite without many problems, but a good friend of mine was not. We lived together when his abuse of the drug got really bad and he became a completely different person. He would start fights for no reason and try his hardest to really hurt me and make me cry. He even started to get physical, and that is when I left. But as much as he did all this, be also depended on me, and hit bottom after I left. I just recieved a call the other day that in the time that I have been gone (about 6 months) he started shooting heroin as well as continueing with the pills. He O.D. the other night and had flatlined at one point. He left the hospital and when right into rehab. I loved using oxycontin, but it only took away my life. People need to understand that their abuse of the drug doesn't only ruin their own lives, but those they love. I lost my best friend becuase of the drug, and it almost made me go back to using. He is lucky to be alive and has recently contacted me to come to one of his therapy sessions. Good luck to all those who's lives have been or are being affected by this drug.
