On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED
them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating
directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who
are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE
PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP
warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been
affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story
then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving
these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be
warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.

Well this is hard to say since it has been such a short time since I found out my best friend died on Friday. This last weekend if it so ironic cause I was just visitting him just came back a week ago. To make a long story short he I guess just did not know the effect that drug is or was!
Lorne we will miss you brother!

We live in Southern Ontario Canada.
My brother Michael Glen Gibbins (Sept 13 1981 - Nov 6 2002) just died. We don't have the toxology report yet, but after the autopsy, The discovered Penicillin probably for the pneumonia they found, and Oxycodone HCI with acetaminophen. Micheal died of respiratory failure.
I hadn't even heard of this drug... He should of lived at least another 40+ years, now I don't know what to do... I miss my little brother. |

MY GOOD FRIEND GWENNA, WHO I HAVE NOT SEEN IN 2 YEARS, TRACKED ME DOWN TODAY, AND TOLD ME HER HUSBAND, BOBBY, ONLY 41 YRS OLD, DIED IN THE BED NEXT TO HER. HE HAD A HEART ATTACK BROUGHT ON BY A RX FOR OXYCONTIN. HE WAS BEING TREATED BY ONE DR. FOR LYME DESIESE, AND ANOTHER FOR A DISK PROBLEM IN HIS BACK. THE RX HE WAS GIVEN, (HINDSIGHT) WAS DOUBLE THE DOSE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKING WITH THE OTHER MEDS HE WAS ON. THE TRUE HORROR IS, HIS WIFE FILLED THE PRESCRIPTION, AND DID WHAT THE BOTTLE SAID! AND A SHORT TIME LATER, HER HUSBAND WAS DEAD!!! I CANT BELIEVE THIS IS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN IN THIS DAY OF COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY! ALL PHARMACY'S HAVE DRUG INTERACTION PROGRAMS, WHICH IS WHY MOST OF US USE THE SAME DRUG STORE FOR ALL OUR MEDICATIONS. ALSO, HOW CAN A DR. PRESCRIBE MEDS THAT ARE SO POTENTIALLY DANGEROUD WITHOUT CHECKING!! PLEASE HELP THIS NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN, THIS MAN HAD 3 CHILDREN, AND A WIFE WHO NEEDED HIM.
