On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

I am glad to have found this informative site. I had been under the impreesion that I had seen just about EVERY site there was with regard to Oxy's, but unfortunately, the problem with this drug seems to be growing larger and larger. My husband is an Oxy addict, into his 2nd year of career addiction. We have been married for 3 years, together for 5. He has been using/abusing for almost 2 years now. We have a 1 year old daughter together and he has 2 daughters (9 & 11)from a previous marriage. I have seen this drug take EVERYTHING. We recently had to sell our home. He is now living with his Mother and Step Dad & I am in limbo, with our daughter, living out of hotels, seasonal apt's and sometimes with family. I am out of state right now visiting family and just got a phone call from the wife of his best friend and "drug buddy" that they were both "caught" shooting Oxy's in his Mother's home! He had previously stated to me that he hadn't "used" since March. The problem with OC is that in my experiences with my husband, (a once kind, gentle, compassionate man)-when the oxy's are not readily available, the commonality is to find a "replacement." So now we have dealt with just about every addiction under the SUN, from alcohol & Xanax to Cocaine & heroin. My husband was very careful about hiding his addiction from me. It was going on in our home, right under my nose for over a year.

MY SON CAME TO ME FOR HELP WHEN HE KNEW HE WAS IN TROUBLE WITH OXYCONTIN. I AM A NURSE, AND I DID NOT EVEN HAVE A CLUE THAT MY SON HAD BEEN ABUSING OXYCONTIN. I TOOK HIM TO THE ER AND THE DOCTOR SENT HIM HOME WITH ME AS HE HAD BEEN DETOXING AT HOME WITH MY SUPPORT FOR 2 DAYS. I DID NOT KNOW THAT THE DETOX WOULD TAKE A GOOD 2-3 WEEKS. SO, IT WAS A TIME OF LEARNING FOR ME. I KNOW ONE THING FOR SURE, ADDICTION MEDICINE IS NOT FOR ME. WHEN I ASKED HIM WHERE HE HAD GOTTEN THE OXYCONTIN, HE TOLD ME HE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE HE PURCHASED IT FROM. ALL OF THE "PUSHERS" HE DEALT WITH HAD OBTAINED THE DRUG LEGALLY FROM THEIR PHYSICIANS, AND COULD NOT/DID NOT NEED THE DRUG. THEREFORE, THEY QUICKLY LEARNED HOW TO MAKE QUICK MONEY ON SELLING THEIR PRESCRIPTIONS. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER! I JUST PRAY THAT THESE PEOPLE WILL BECOME MORE KNOWLEDGABLE OF THE DRUG THEY ARE SELLING. THESE DRUGS ARE KILLING OUR KIDS. ONE OF MY SONS CLOSE FRIENDS DIED ON HIS MOTHERS LIVING ROOM FLOOR, LUCKILY FOR THE BOY, HIS MOM IS AN RN AND INITIATED CPR, AND SHE WAS ABLE TO SAVE HIS LIFE. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, HE CONTINUES TO DO THE DRUG ON AND OFF! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK OF THE BOY, EXCEPT THAT THE NEXT TIME HE PROBABLY WON'T BE SO LUCKY. MY SON SAYS HE HASN'T SNORTED ANY OXY SINCE 7/20/02. I HOPE HE DOESN'T EVER DO THE DRUG AGAIN. I FEEL THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD DEVISE A METHOD OF MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CUT THROUGH THE TIME RELEASED COATING, MAKING THE TIME RELEASE EFFECT MIX THROUGH THE ENTIRE BODY OF THE PILL. SORT OF LIKE CONTACT COLD CAPSULES. MAKING THE INSIDE BEADS OF THE PILL, ALL ONE COLOR OR SOMETHING. OR EVEN BETTER, GET RID OF IT ALL TOGETHER AND GIVE THESE PEOPLE SOMETHING OTHER THAN THIS DRUG, WHICH ADDICTS EVEN THE INNOCENT PEOPLE IT IS PRESCRIBED TO.

WOW! This drug has affected so many lives, and I can add my name to the list. My husbands' parents are extremely addicted to ocs and have taken to smashing them and snorting them. They have 3 children in the house and willingly allow their 17 year old daughter to take the oxys too. Since this addiction has surfaced, We have not been able to go over there for fear that they will do these drugs in front of OUR kids as well. They too have night sweats and tremors, whole days were they will not even leave the bed even to get their 7 year old daughter food. They go to a methadone clinic, but sell the dones for more oxi's. I just dont know what to do. I want them to get better, but its no use talking to them, and i will not call the police on them. Please tell as many people as you can to STOP before its too late
