On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

For those stories that I have read from people defending Oxycontin I only have this to add. If you are terminally ill or have been severly injured then I understand that Oxycontin is a miracle drug for you. In my opinion it should only be prescribed for people with your circumstances. For those of us whom have had our lives destroyed or lost a loved one because of Oxycontin then you can't begin to understand where we are coming from. We are faced each and every day with the constant reminder that we will never see, hear, hug, talk with, or laugh with our loved ones. So you see there is no winner here. You may defend Oxycontin but we are left with the constant reminders of how the drug destroyed so many lives each time we visit our loved one's graves. Just my opinion

I am a 36 year old guy on Oxycontin for Pain Relief... Having read plenty of pages here I would like to say a couple of things. Here in Australia where I live,Oxycontin is NOT a widely prescibed drug. There is quite a screening process, just to be eligible. Then your Doctor must get a permit each and every time from the government for a scipt lasting 1 month. I take 80mg of Oxycontin twice a day for pain relief, one year after a workplace accident that has all but crippled me.I think like most things in life,Usage in moderation, under the supervision of a caring and responsible Doctor should ensure that this medication is NOT abused by the bona fide "Pain Sufferer".To those families of "addicts" whom overdosed, I feel for you.Addiction is often replaced and topped up, if not with one drug of choice then by another, including Alcohol. To suggest Oxycontin was the soul contributer to a persons death is naive in my point of view...then again this is only my view. Thanks

My husband was prescribed Oxy's for his severe Rhuematoid Arthritis, 4 years ago..since that time our lives have a living hell..he is so addicted and is starting to turn against me and all our years together..he does not see what he is doing to me or the kids, and this miracle medication is KILLING him slowly..I can not take it anymore..He would rather be with his "friends" that are also oxy abusers than with me. For some reason he has turned totally against me. I dont' know what to do anymore. I can NOT fight this demon!!! We know SEVERAL people who have died or nearly died from this medication...I WISH IT WOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE MARKET FOR GOOD!! This is not a miracle medication is the DEVIL in a pill form. I have seen so many things from this drug, that I dont' have enough space to put it all here. IT MAKES ME SICK!! and the saddest thing is, not only what it does to the patient or person on it, but what it does their families..I know I have NEVER taken one of those pills and it has literally killed me inside. I have lost things that I will never be able to get back. Thanks for listening.
