On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

My name is Kimberly Tebo and my baby sister Sarah Tebo died on March 23, 2002 from an Oxycontin overdose. She was born on February 23, 1984. Sarah is survived by her mother Susan, father Craig, sisters Kim and Kristin, brother Tom, and nephews Zachary and Austin. Sarah was three months away from graduating from Oscoda High School in Michigan and had planned to attend Grand Valley State University with full scholarships. She was a popular cheerleader and active in sports and school activaties. She was beautiful both inside and out. Her boyfriend gave her the drug and also cocaine. It only took one time to kill her. Two days after her death her boyfriend took his own life with a shotgun. He felt guilty for causing her death. She was just experimenting like any other teenager. Our family is doing everything we can to spread the word on this killer of a drug. I miss her so much and the heartache of my parents is almost to much to bear. I don't have a picture becuase my scanner is down but as soon as I have one I will send it to you. Please tell her story. No family should have to go through this and no parent should have to outlive their children. Thank you. Kimberly Tebo

Type:Chronic Pain Story

More accurately, the subject of this email should be "From a former LEGALLY prescribed OXYCONTIN user". I sent this under an anonymous alias & email, not to hide, but to protect my own rights of medical confidentiality. I hope EVERYONE, not just kids, gets the chance to read your web site & take every word of it to heart. My Testimonial: From Former LEGALLY prescribed OXYCONTIN user - NOT ABUSER! I think it should be noted that I'm a rather large man. 6'4 & 240 pounds. 40 years of age After a brutal car accident that left me painfully twisted in several areas of my body (esp my back), I was referred to a doctor from the ER where I was treated at the time of my accident who prescribed OXYCONTIN , 40 MG-12 hours apart AND PERCOCET for break through pain as needed. After only a few weeks (3) on OXYCONTIN , I received a registered letter informing me that Doctor prescribing the medicine was no longer in practice (it didn't say why) & that I should seek an immediate replacement Physician. At this time (The day I received the letter) I had 20 OXYCONTIN pills left (a 10 day supply). I did seek another physician to treat my condition, but it would be more than 30 days before I could get an appointment. I had read all the medical release information about OXYCONTIN & was aware (?) of the discomfort that OXYCONTIN could (WOULD) cause by abruptly stop taking it. So I begin to taper my remaining 10 day supply into 25 days until I was taking only 10 MG of OXYCONTIN twice a day....and then for the last 2 days only 10 mg once a day . I mean, I'm not a drug abuser and certainly did not want to go through withdrawal symptoms. After all, I was following my Doctor's orders to the letter.....so nothing bad could happen right? The days that followed my last dose of OXYCONTIN: Day 1: Felt fine (Other than the natural pain I was already suffering from my accident) Day 2: Again, felt fine, but was slightly disoriented. However, I was confident that I had succeeded in my task of "weaning" myself off OXYCONTIN and my fears of withdrawal dwindled away. Day 3: Thought I was going to die! I woke that morning with SEVERE stomach pain & nausea. Later that night I found myself in the ER, not because of pain from my accident, but from the stomach pain. I received a shot of Demerol. The pain went away and I was sent home. Day 4 through Day 15: (and several trips to the ER later): Thought I was going to die! I woke in the morning with SEVERE stomach pain, nausea, vomiting that just would not go away. I was sure I was dying. Day 16: Sought help from a general physician. He started me on isotonic (minute...small) doses of Oxcodone ( NOT OXYCONTIN) to help ease the torment of coming off this drug. KEEP IN MIND.....I was taking OXYCONTIN exactly as prescribed. Day 45: The last 29 days had been pure hell, but the withdrawal symptoms were gone & I no longer needed any medications to stop the withdrawal effects of OXYCONTIN. My body (my insides) had literally been put through the wringer in ways you NEVER want to experience. It should be noted that on top of this horror, I was still suffering the sever pain of my accident. Do you know how long 45 days is in this condition?!! An Eternity. OXYCONTIN did in fact control my pain, but for the torment it caused me afterwards.....it simply wasn't worth it. I wrote this letter in hopes that it might help just 1 person from going through the same torment I went through..................help just 1 kid stop & think before believing OXYCONTIN is a harmless party drug.

I don't really do drugs, at least not heavy ones.. and I don't tend to experiment.. but I have had friends who do and it was really good to see your show on MTV. It made me a lot more aware, and your website did even more so. I think that setting the facts straight for people who have tried it or who might try it is a really great idea, and the message you're putting out there is very beneficial.
