On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

I started taking the drug oxycontin at the age of 16. I never knew anything about the drug and I started snorting it to get high. The very first time I snorted it I got extrememly sick and was vomiting. Even though the vomiting I still liked the feeling of being high off oxycontin. For the first month of doing oxy's I was doing a small milligram 20's or 40's, but everytime I snorted I was getting addicted and I did'nt even know it. After only a few months of doing oxycontin I was physically dependant as well as mentally dependant on the drug. Between my boyfriend and I we were spending $700-1000 a week on oxycontin. We were now doing 80 milligram pills each and not even getting high of the drug anymore by this time the drug is just leveling us out so we wont be going through withdrawls. We tried quitting several times getting other pain pills but nothing would work because we were so addicted. Methodone is another type of drug that you get for withdrawls we tried this but we always went back to doing the oxy's. By this time im 17, left my parents house living with my 22 year old bofriend addicted to oxy's. My oxy addiction came to an abrupt stop on the morning of May 19, 2002. My boyfriend and I were drained of money and had no way of getting more oxy's. The withdrawls were so bad for me as far as im told I went in to a coma like state. My boyfriend rushed me the the hospital. I don't remember going to the hospital or anything. I know that I woke up in the hospital screaming in pain. It felt like I was getting stabbed in the stomach repetedly with a knife. This went on for 2 hours. My boyfriend watching me go through this. My parents were contacted and arrived after my pain had eased somewhat. I hadent seen my parents for 6 months. I did not even look like their daughter. I lost 30 pounds since my oxy addiction. I weighed only 92 pounds at this point in time. My parents dicided to put me in a inpatient rehab-detox program. It has been a little over a week for me and im recovering slowly but surely. I gained 9 pounds in the first 7 days of not doing oxy's. I am still going through withdrawls but every day they get a little easier. My parents are very supportive and helping me get through every day one by one. As far as im concerned oxycontin is a very popular drug and is abused greatly among my age group. Something needs to be done!!! This is why I wrote my story, because if you are not aware of this drug it will "grab you by the balls" So if you are ever at a party or whatever and someone wants you to do oxy's just walk away. It only takes that one time for you to die. That is the honest truth.

On April 29th, tragically my son Nick Morton 21 years old. Lost his life due to this deadly dangerous drug oxycontin. He was full of life and always wore a smile. He was loved in the community by people of all ages. Everyone remembers him and misses his smile. He always played football with the neighborhood kids. If he knew how dangerous this drug really was he wouldn't have taken it. I believe he took this pill because of his hip disease that he had since he was a child. I have never heard of this drug until the day he died. He enjoyed playing with his neices and enjoyed life to the fullest. His brother Sean, sisters Anglea, Shannon, Rose, and Colleen are heart broken. His Granpop and many others of his friends are sadden and not a day goes by that he is not thought of. The people that sold him this drug lived right across the road from us, they are heartless. Nick thought they were his friends, but all they were out to do is to make a buck. They could not even pay there last respect to attend his funeral service, they seen him on the bed life less and within minutes after he was taken out by the ER, they went and cashed his check of $55.00 dollers and close the trailer up for a couple of weeks. They still have their lives and Nick doesn't. This couple, must answer to a higher person. That is God. Everyone knew were to get this drug. This community is only conset about 700 population. I would like to see this drug taken off the market because of how addictive this drug is. It's Herion in a pill. To many doctors are proscribing it. And more enducation must be avalable to all medical personal as well as to our local communtiy and law offlicals. Our Schools must also be open to this drug. If it wasn't for Ed and this web site, I Would not have Leared so much about this drug. I want to thank him for this, and the fight that he continues to make people more aware of oxycontin. I know one day we will all see our Nick in heaven for he has accepted JESUS. As his Lord and Savior. Till then we all miss and love you. I Love you Nick. XOXOXO Love, Mom. In loving memory of our beloved Nick. Noxen, PA
