On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

I work in the medical field and i firmly believe that legislators need to push to get this drug off the market. I had a friend who was addicted and shot it up. It took him 8 years to get sober. This medicine is nothing short of synthetic heroine and it is destroying America!!

Hi;my name is Donna Matos and I lost my beautiful 19 yr.old son Elliot from an OxyContin Overdose on Sept.8th 2001.It has been over five years now since I have seen my child.I would like to say the pain gets better, but it don't.You just learn to accept and live with it.After I lost my child, the first site I found was Ed's.Ed I never told you this but I am so thankfull for your courage in starting this site after your son Eddie's death.I have spent endless nights on this sight just reading all the posts. Some cause pain, but some help.My child Elliot is the 5th person on the Memorial Page.I look at the deaths now,and yes I cry,I just cry and cry because somehow we are not learning. The battle against OxyContin is far from over.I live in Somerville,Mass, and we have lost so many children from this drug, that God forgive me I have lost count.I truly wish there was some way for all us parents to just pull together and get rid of this drug once and for all.I will spend the rest of my life knowing my child is no longer with me,because of a tiny lil pill,I hate OxyContin more than I hate anything in this world.I damn the people who invented it,who marketed it,and who killed our children for their own personal gain.In the end Purdue Pharma will answer to God.Hugs,Donna J Matos

Jackie from California, When I found my son trying to dextox himself, I begged him to go to In Patient. He refused. Then I bargained with him and told him he could go for just two weeks. He said Ok. We flew to Wilmington from NJ. After two weeks, he called me and said, Mom, I am ready to come home. I went to the center and when I got there we met with his counselor whereas he had a major break-through and told me, "Mom, I think I need to stay" The program was so good for him and he was learning so much that he realized he was not ready to go home yet. He stay another week and a half and then called me to come home. I guess what i am saying is just get him there, no matter what the terms are. Some rehab is better than none. There is no way he can get clean from this horrible drug unless he does in patient and then goes into a 12 step program. He can not do this alone. You can not help him. He needs professional help/Find a good center and get him in ASAP and don't wait another minute. It was the best decision I ever made. If you have to get down on your knees and bet him, cry, whatever, just do it, or I am afraid you will lose your son to this nightmare drug/ I have included my email address, please feel free to e mail me if you want to talk about this. Also, get yourself into Nar a Non. I did and it will help you cope as well.
