On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED
them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating
directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who
are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE
PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP
warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been
affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story
then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving
these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be
warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.

My brother was great, full of life. We were very close. His birthday is on 5/8/ and I now have a beautiful baby girl that I would love for my brother( her uncle) to meet but He died two years ago when he was prescribed oxy for chronic back pain from a motorcycle accident. I miss him so much Half of me is dead too.
Thank you Oxy for taking my brother from me. I hope the profits were worth it. I wonder if the drug reps can sleep at night knowing the death toll they help to create.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL!!! He would be 36. |

I wrote recently about the death of my stepdaughter. The death certificate finally arrived and states "accute oxycodone intoxication". Megan left us on March 10, and on 4-21-04, an arrest was made for 2nd degree murder of the man who provided her with her final dose of oxycontin. I have become active in writing to Congress, and to my elected state officials to have some laws changed or incorporated. A central electronic reporting system seems the most logical, which would control the number of times and the number of doses a person can receive in a month. We also need to control our doctors who are becoming "pill-mills". And what is up with all these commercials for prescription drugs these days? Has our government totally lost control or do they just not care? |
