On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED
them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating
directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who
are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE
PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP
warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been
affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story
then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving
these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be
warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.

I am a mother of 4 and my oldest child is days from being 21 he is also addicted to Oxy, This drug has been a nightmare to me and my family, I love my son more than he will ever know, And to know what he is doing to himself and not being able to help him tears me apart, We had to kick him out of the house because we could no longer support him and his habit. He was gone 2 days and is back, he says he wants to get clean, but than he tells a friend that he will go to rehab for only 2 weeks and if we ask for more he will run away.... This makes me feel that he is not serious, reading these stories scares me that maybe I will be writing "my son died of oxy" I hope this never happens but in the mean time, this web-site is helping me cope, Thanks |

Seven weeks ago, I found my twenty three year old son in his apartment in NJ trying to detox himself. He was at death's door and since I live in NC, I had not seen him in a few months and was not aware of his addiction to Oxycontin. Frantic, I began making phone calls and eventually was able to get him into a rehab in Wilmington NC, the best thing I could have done.
He succesfully completed the program, is back in NJ and now wants to come back here to NC to live and work. He has made incredible progress and I don't think he would be alive today had I not made the decision to take him there.
He is working, going to NA meetings, and working the steps. He is serious about staying clean. I know he can relapse, but that's part of the process. I can only hope and pray that someone succeeds in elminating this drug and in turn, saves the life of the people who use and abuse this drug. I'm sorry, but I am in chronic pain everyday after several back surgeries, so much so that I can not work at age 50, but knowing the addiciting effect of this drug, would never take it in a million years. If you have to see your child or loved one in the choke hold of addiction to relate to this, than so be it. To everyone out there who is using oxy, if you are serious about getting clean, you have to do the program. You have the best chance for success that way. And never every stop believing in yourself |

I would like to let some of you people know there is hope for oxy addiction it is called suboxine. It is hard to get a Dr. To subscribe the medication at this particular time because they are only allowed to take on 30 patients at a time. This drug is an opiate blocker but it also takes away the OVERWHELMING urge to use. I wishI could line up kids and just warn them don't ever ever try the oxys becauase there is virtuly no way to break the addiction trust me when I tell you you will throw away everything just to get your hands on one more pill when you are hooked. If you never try them you will never get hooked stay away it is pure hell. |
