On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

My sister's name was Linda. She was a very smart, beautiful and a mother. She started taking oxycontin about a year ago for chronic back pain. She was a nurse and thought she knew what she was doing. I am also a nurse and was real worried about the drug she was taking. The doctors gave her what ever she wanted thinking she was in control. About a year we found out she was not in control. Oxycontin controled her. We had her taken into detox and she did well for about 4 days till a doctor gave her another percription of it. 2 months after that which was 2 weeks ago. I sat next to her dead body that had been over come with oxycontin. I am so mad right now at the doctors for giving it to her and for her taking the med. It is very powerful and over coming medication. I am going to try to get the word out as much as i can to let people know that the drug does KILL>

Hi, I am a police detective and I learned about Oxy in 1998 or 1999 when a rash of pahrmacies were getting robbed, and even home invasions were being done to get Oxy. Its almost as popular as cocaine with drug abusers where I work. Remember this, nearly every Oxy out there came from a doctor that wrote a precsription. There is an insane number of Pain Management clinics that are pretty much funded by Medicaid/Medicare patients drawing SSI that routinely get prescriptions filled for their own abuse and to sell for profit. These drugs arent being smuggled through Florida or Texas, they are made here and dispensed here. Through our political process, we need to crack down on doctors that over prescribe, and TRACK DOWN people that abuse the Medicare system. TD................................................................Ed Bisch: for a mere 350.00 dollars you can get a certificate as a so called Pain Management specialist with NO special training....what a JOKE....

My baby sister, Stephanie, shot herself in the forehead with a 9mm last Saturday afternoon. She was 29 years old. She began taking OXY with her boyfriend in January. In September she wanted to try to kick the habit. It was getting expensive 80mg tabs 3 times a day. She tried to quit cold turkey, but suffered through withdrawals so severe she called 911 to come do something. They took her to a hospital and gave her the methadone. She entered a treatment program but quit after 2 weeks. She had to get back to this guy she lived with. He was a small-time dealer/singer. Her despair was overwhelming about not being able to kick this addiction and knowing her could have been so much better. She was 1 class away from getting her degree from Univ. of South Florida, she had won numerous awards for acting in local theater, and modeled. She never found the true love she was looking for and instead found something to compound her mild depression she suffered from since she was a teenager. Please let the drug be re-classified for severe pain only. They bought a guy's prescription from him and as Stephanie told it;the guy was in little if any pain from a back injury on the job. My 2 year old will miss knowing her only Aunt.
