On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

I'm a 22 year old college student who lost of my closest friends to oxycontin. His name was Dean, and we all party really hard in high school. I'm talking about taking 2 acid tabs, 5 vicatins, and drinking gross amounts of alcohol. We all thought that we were invincible, and Dean led the way. So when Dean told me about this new drug, oxycontin, i wasn't really scared about it, he'd done far worse. Too bad that Dean took one and a half pills, 5 months ago now, and that night, Dean went to sleep and NEVER WOKE UP. Why?? because of this stupid F(*&^*^kin drug called oxycontin. The drug suppressed his respiratory system and he literally FORGOT TO BREATH AND DIED. Since Dean's death, i've seriously reconsidered the way i look at drugs. I think that everyone should just take a few seconds now and then to really analyze some of the choices we all make. AJ

I found my son in his bed "sleeping". I tried to wake him, he felt a little cool when I touched his arm. I shook him and yelled "Shawn!,Shawn! WAKE UP! then I realized his color didn't look right, so i turned him all the way over on his back. Iknew right then it was probably too late. I ran through the house horrified by what I had seen, and what I knew was happening. My 14 y/o daghter was in her room, I ran in there to get the phone. She immediately knew something was wrong. I told her I didn't think her brother was breathing!! She started screaming!! I called 911 and my friend. my friend made it to my house first. We started CPR , which is a nightmare performing on your own son. All the emergency workers, police and fire dept showed up and took over. I went outside knowing in my heart what they were about to tell me. My daughter had called her cousin and she came over, not long after there must have been 75 teenagers in my front yard Just as I suspected one of the officers came out to tell me...MY 17y/o SON IS DEAD!!! I am sure you would like to know what killed him...OXYCONTIN!! I had no idea Shawn had taken this dangerous drug, until later when his "friends" told me. I wish they would have told me sooner. This is a long story/tragedy! It probably could have been avoided. Shawn like many other teens had been drinking, "partying" the night before he died. He took Xanax and drank beer. He was to play in a baseball game on Sunday I tried to talk him out of it because he was kind of "out of it". he got his way and went to the ballfield, they wouldn't let him play. He took some "pills" at the ballfield. He came home after taking a nap at his cousins, he had an appt with a counselor in regards to some goals and family issues. they talked for about 45 minutes. Shawn appeared "hungover" and tired, so we sent him to bed. Last thing he said to me was "Mom get me up for work in the morning,I love you" That is the LAST thing he said to me!! I miss him terribly, Anita Pippin

My very good friend asked me to check out your website. She lost her son to an overdose. I thank you for developing and maintaining this website.I did not even know about this current, deadly trend. As a parent, the more I know, well the more I know. I have sent out an email to my family and friends and asked them to also visit your website. Maybe it can make difference. Thank you, Michelle
