Name:MISTY RICE Email:[email protected] Type:Death Story Date:11/5/2002	Hi my name is Misty Rice I live in Ohio and I would like to tell my story about the drug(OXYCONTIN). It was all one Oct 23 2002,It was 8:13 in the morning and i was getting my 6 year old son ready for school never knowing i would walk out in my living room to find my dad dead on my couch with a needle in his hand,it was the most devastating day of my life ,like it was all a big dream.my dad was only 52 years old and in very good health,and to find him in such a way left me wondering what did my dad due? there are so many unanswered questions that will never be answered now only he and god has the answers. Well 2 weeks have gone by since that terrible day and today (nov.5th 2002) i found out it was an overdose of OXYCONTIN is what took my dads life,i sit and wonder why and how,just 8 hours before i found my dad we were sitting on my couch laughing and joking around he seemed fine to me and now this. What a horrible way to end such a innocent life so ful of love and joy and a heart of gold,he would of given anyone the shirt off his back THAT WAS MY DAD, He had every reason in the world to live ,a beautiful and loving wife and 5 wonderful kids,and 8 beautiful grandchildren all that loved him so much.I wish he would have talked to me and let me know that OXYCONTIN was a problem in his life and maybe i could have helped him the help he needed but i know i'll never know really how bad it is or how bad it was,i'm just glad to know that my dad is in heaven with god and hes now safe from the drug and i hope that one day maybe i can save a life from it before that aweful takes it from another innocent soul. I LOVE MY DAD A GREAT DEAL AND WILL ALWAYS KEEP HIM DEEP IN PRAYER I JUST WANT HIM TO KNOW THAT WE ALL LOVE YOU DAD AND I'LL SEE YOU ONE DAY!!!! He had been out of our lives for more then 10 yrs when we finally got him back it was nice.He had been home with us for about 2 years. Then on oct.23rd 2002 i got a phone call saying that my dad was just found dead.Well it took us all by shock, he had a needle in his hand. Not knowing what he had done or why he was dead we had to get ready to bury him. Well today nov.5th we got the reason he had died it was an overdose on oxy's. It seems so unfair,he still had a long life ahead of him and there was not much that i remember about my dad and in just a short time he was taken from us and will never be here again to say some of the things that needed to be said. He had a wife, 5 kids,and 8 grandchildren that he left behind that love and miss him so very much. we also forgive him for what he did. we all take a wrong path at least once in our lives. Noone is perfect. i thank the person who made this site possible. i hope all the storys on here help someone out there who may be on this drug. please dont let this drug take another life. i love you dad.
