On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

Oxycontin is the most addictive drug out there. It also makes you feel incredible, invincible, and untouchable. It can rule and ruin your life. How do I know? Because I was addicted for over a year. While using, I thought Oxy's were the best thing to ever happen to me. It is only through hindsight that I realize what a crippiling effect it had on my life. I am proud to say that I have now been free of use for over 90 days. At the beginning, I never thought I was going to make it, but now that I've come so far, I don't I don't know how I made it so far using. I was very fortunate that things worked out for me. Now, I can only hope that more people will become informed about the dangers of this drug because of websites like this.

One of my closest friends abuses oxycontin. I've known about it for a while but I always conflicted with myself on whether or not I should say anything to anyone. After reading the stories and looking at this website I told someone that could help him the next day. Thanks to this website he will hopefully get the help he needs. Please pray for him. Thanks for your help!

Type:Chronic Pain Story

Date:9/29/2002
This is to let people know what this drug has done for me. I have lived with chronic pain every day for the last seven years. Pain so crippling that I have times I can't move, can't breathe, I get nauseated, sweat, and have thought about ending my life due to pain. I can now lead a semi-normal life, thanks to Oxycontin. My husband has to give me my morning dose a hour before I plan to get up so I can move, but at least now I don't need to crawl to the bathroom! I had tried to get pain relief from taking 5-6 Motrin at a time every 4 hours which, by the way, can damage the kidneys. I am terribly sorry for the losses suffered by those on this site. However, because of these abusers it is very difficult for me to get my needed pain medication. I am treated like a drug seeker when I call in for a refill. I have had roommates steal mine; they are now in a locked box, in a locked safe under my bed. But I was the one who suffered not having enough to get me through the month. Needless to say they are no longer my roommates. I only pray that no one was hurt by their stupidity. I do know that the makers of the drug are planning on releasing a new formulation of the drug this fall that will inactivate it if crushed. If taken whole as it is intended the time release medication is not disturbed. If crushed, tiny crystals of another drug (Narcon), which inhibits the narcotic action, are released, rendering the drug inert. This would not end the deaths from people who take it when it is not prescribed for them, taking it not as prescribed, or taking it off the street. People who do take it as prescribed need to be aware that it can cause dependence and they will need to be tapered off. They need to be up front with their doctors if they have any addictive personality traits at all. It sickens me that the drug that has given me my life back has taken so many lives. I hope that if someone does have a drug problem they will get help. I also hope that this drug is not taken away from those of us who really do need it because of the misdeeds of others.
