On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

I work in a local Pharmacy we ahve stopped stocking OxyContin because of all the robberies in the areas. We also Saw all too many times people walking in and gettin their OxyContin RX's filled pulling out a wad of $100.00 bills to pay for them and almost turning cartwheels as they walked out of the pharmacy. This medication is for moderate to severe pain, Who am I to judge who is in pain but I don't see a thing wrong with these people. And most of the doctors that are writting the RX's are not cancer or pain doctors. It is normal family practice doctors.I feel bad that I am keeping it from patients that need the medication but if they have cancer etc. They must go to pick up the Rx they can have it filled at the hosp pharmacy. The DEA must step up to the plate and figure out a way to put a hault on the over prescribing of this and other C-2 medications.

July 29th 2002 will mark the 7 month anniversary of my Father's death. It wasn't long ago that I remember a very loving, funny, down to earth Dad that loved his children and grandchildren very much. I will always remember him for the wonderful person he was. However I will always remember one word that changed our lives forever "oxycontin". My Dad was not an abuser. He was a hard working man, a business, owner who was injured at work a few years ago. After his injury to his back, he was treated by a local Doctor who had nothing but praise for Oxycontin. Of course I was there the day that Oxy was prescribed to my Dad. I voiced my opinion but of course the Doctor was more persuasive. They day my Dad took his first dose was the day he started dying. Over the course of 8 mos. my Dad changed. The man that was full of life, seemed to dwindle into nothing. Even in the last days of his life, he seemed so tired and ill. I will never forget that phone call that I recieved on Dec. 29th, 2001. My Dad had died in his sleep of a heart attack. Autopsy results revealed Oxycontin was in his system at the time of his death. It also revealed that he had a few drinks that night (my dad only drank once in awhile). Cause of death was natural. Of course I don't see it that way. Since my Dad's death I have hired an attorney. If Oxycontin did play a role in my Dad's demise then I wan't to make sure that the Doctor's and the makers of Oxycontin pay for what they have done. No amount of money will make up for the loss but if I can save another life then it will be well worth it. Each day is a struggle for me. My Dad was a very important person in my life. He leaves behind a wife, two grandchildren, two daughters.

I just wanted to let you know you have made an excellent website. So many people are one-sided, saying ban oxy's and such. You strongly emphasize the dangers, while saying they are also an important drug for those who are in severe pain. Bravo! Sincerely, Jenn
