On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

My beautiful, talented, smart, 24 year old step daughter became addicted to oxy. I don't guess any of us know how much or how often she was using. She was in at least 5 rehab centers, each time staying less time. On March 10, 2004 the oxy took her from us. She leaves us with her two year old son and many memories of better days.

I will make my story short here. I was abusing oxy's for about 2 years when I went to rehab in November of 2002. I was up to 300 or more milligrams a day. I was never prescribed them so as you can imagine it was an expensive habit. About 5 months after i got out of rehab I relapsed and got right back to the point i was at before. About a month ago I started seeing an addiction counselor and he suggested I get into the Suboxone program. Suboxone is a pill that takes away your physical and mental cravings and it also blocks your opiate receptors so even if you did relapse you wouldn't get high. I thought that it was too good to be true, but I gave it a shot. Well anyhow so far the medicine works great. I go to my counselor once a week and go to the doctor once a month now. You actually have to go to a special doctor, it isnt like a meth clinic or that. So there is help out there besides rehab, dont get me wrong rehab worked great, I just didnt listen to what i was taught in there. And as most of you know, the mental cravings are the hardest part. They are always there even if you have been sober for months. But with this medicine, I havent even thought about getting oxy. If anyone has any questions please email me. I havent been on the medicine long, but i have a ton of info on it from my counselor and doctor, so i will try to answer any questions. Good luck to all who are still using and to all that are sober. And my prayers are with you all.........Ed Bisch: Also see my HELP PAGE for a suboxone/buprenix locator and info.

My only son was given two prescriptions of oxycontin for pain from a tonsil surgery. He was given 20 pills for 7days to take every 12 hours. Then 6 days after his surgery he was given 30 mor pills to take one every 8 hours. My son was only 17. He was never the same. After two hospitals and a re-hab center he took his live 5 weeks befor his senior graduation. most of his final senior year was a nightmare. Everyday I live with the terrible memories of watching him go through such a drastic change, i questioned his doctor about this drug before his surgery and was told it had helped patints who use to call during the night. It is probably good for some patients but not a 17 year old child. My son has been gone for 3 years and I have constantly tried to find at what this drug is to be given, Alot of medicine you buy over the counter say do not adminsted to children under suc an age. What is the protocol for this drug??? A drug this powerful should have age recomendations. If you have any information about this please let me know.. I live everyday knowing that I refilled it and chose the doctor. Life is a living nightmare without my son's smiles and hugs.
