View All General Comment Abuse Story Death Story Chronic Pain Story       Please sign our Guestbook Name:Betty Clark Email:[email protected] Type:Death Story Date:3/14/2004 Well it;s been awhile sience I wrote, and I thought I would let everyone know that the death of my son Chris age 19,on Oct.24,2003, has not made a difference in this town, I have wrote to so many people and not one response back, But I will not stop, I am going to the media soon about Oxycontin in this town, I will be heard and the death of my son will not just go away, Still under investigation because someone don;t have the experience to try the case, Well I wrote for help in that department,The pain I have for the lost of my son Chris is sometimes so unbearable,The anxiety won;t go away and I feel like I am dying inside,I am still in counseling and she is great,Chris was a good kid,and because he made a bad choice that night, he paid for it with his life, and part of my life went with him,His picture is in the memorials now and I looked at it today and my little boy, my God,How does a mother deal with that. These kids that think it won;t happen to them, and saying just one more time,then i;ll stop, it doesn;t work that way,Chris;s short lived life has proven that,Oxycontin will over power yu, and if you don;t stop, it will win,You guys are doing a great job on the fight, I just wish, I could tell you I am getting somewhere here in michigan, hopefully soon, when I hit the newspapers, I won;t stop. love you,miss you so much chris, Mom   Name:ashley mcguire Email:[email protected] Type:Death Story Date:3/13/2004 my father just passed away about two months ago. i live in washington state and he lived in kentucky. i moved away almost 3 years ago. i will be 18 in a month. i haven't seen my dad for almost three years and i was excited to get to see him this summer. but one morning my sister called me about 3:30 in the morning and said dad was dead. i was so shocked. my dad was only 40 years old. the autopsy hasn't came back yet, but he overdosed on some medication. we think it was oxycontin. i knew my dad had a problem, but i never thought or knew that it was that bad. i would talk to him on the phone and he would sound fine, but then he would call back later and he would sound drunk. but i just want people to know how dangerous prescription drugs are. i wish my dad was still here. but unfortunately he's not. my mother passed away when i was 4. so i am now an orphan. i would have to say this is and will be the hardest time in my life, especially being so far away from my family.   Name:Tina Email: Type:Administrator Date:3/11/2004 I WROTE ON YOUR SITE 7 MONTHS AGO THAT I WAS A RECOVERING OXY ABUSER AND WROTE A BIT OF MY STORY. I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I AM STILL CLEAN 9 MONTHS LATER AND AM DOING ALL THAT I CAN TO GET THIS OFF THE STREETS. I LIVE IN NORTHERN VA. 9 MONTHS AGO A FRIEND OF MINE NAMED KIETH BAILEY WAS SHOT AND KILLED (AS WELL AS ANOTHER MALE THAT I DO NOT KNOW) BY A KID THAT WAS ADDICTED TO OXY. YOU SEE KIETH WAS ADDICTED AS WELL AND WAS SELLING THE DRUG. HE WENT TO GO MEET WITH THIS YOUNG MAN AND WAS SHOT 2 TIMES WITH A SHOT GUN AND THEN THROWN IN THE BASEMENT. (THE OTHER MALE CAME AWHILE LATER UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES AND WAS KILLED AS WELL). THE GUNMAN THAN RENTED A HOTEL AND GOT HIGH. THE HOUSE WHERE THE TWO LAY DEAD WAS THE GUNMAN'S GRANDPARENTS HOME AND THEY HAD ASKED HIM TO WATCH THE HOUSE WHILE THEY WERE ON VACATION. THE GRANDPARENTS CAME HOME TO NOT ONLY TWO BODIES THAT HAD BEEN LAYING IN THE BASEMENT FOR 3 DAYS BUT TO ALL OF THEIR BELONGINGS PAWNED. THEY CALLED THE POLICE AND REPORTED THAT THEIR GRANDSON HAD PROBABLY DONE THIS. THEY FOUND THE GUNMAN IN THE HOTEL AFTER 2 DAYS STILL GETTING HIGH. THEY JUST SENTANCED THIS MAN TO 30 YEARS IN PRISON. HE WAS QUOTED IN THE PAPER AS SAYING "I WAS SO ADDICTED TO OXYCONTIN I WOULD'VE DONE ANYTHING TO GET IT AND I WAS SO HIGH I DON'T REMEMBER ALL THAT HAD HAPPENED". IT IS A TRUE TRAGEDY.............BUT ON A LIGHTER NOTE, I WROTE CONGRESSMAN WOLFE AND MARK WARNER. I TOLD THEM MY STORY. I TOLD THEM HOW EASY IT WAS TO OBTAIN THE DRUG AND HOW ALL OF MY HOOK-UPS WERE OLDER PEOPLE WITH LEGITAMIT PRESCRIPTIONS (EVEN THOUGH THESE PEOPLE WERE BEING PRESCRIBED OVER 500 80MG OXY'S A MONTH).
