On about April 19th 2002 SOMEONE hacked into the old guestbooks and DELETED them. What they deleted was over 500 DEATH and ADDICTION stories relating directly to OXYCONTIN. They also deleted over 100 stories from people who are legitimate patients and most of them need oxycontin for their SEVERE PAIN. I apologize to anyone who took the time to share their stories to HELP warn others. Those guestbooks were somehow a comfort to all who have been affected by this ABUSE epidemic. Please if you are looking for your story then REPOST it. I'm sad to say but by the amount of email I am receiving these guestbook's will rapidly rebuild their SAD tales BUT people need to be warned as to the power of this drug and the deadly consequences when ABUSED.
Please read the other stories and add yours to our guestbook...

Type:Chronic Pain Story

My husband has been on oxy's for a year and a half now. He takes 320 mg daily. He has chronic pain due to a car accident. He gets his pills legally but has abused them to the point were he would be 5-10 days short come the end of the month. I've watched him go through withdrawal several times now and it's a very sad , disgusting thing to watch. I started locking them up and I now give him his pills every morning so that he can only mess up one days worth of pills. My husband has never taken any drugs prior to his accident and now he's a junkie, Thanks to Purdue! Since my husband has been on these junk pills, he has changed so much that i don't even know who he is? He doesn't care about anything anymore. He's grumpy, complains all the time, is miserable and wakes up late every day and complains that he wishes he would die in his sleep. I want him off these drugs before he kills himself. I just want back the sweet man I married.

I have posted here on few occasions. I have a soon to be 22 year old son who is now going through detox with the use of buprenorphine for the second time in 11 months...He has to go daily to his doctor for the meds...last year his detox took 11 days...I'm not sure just how long it will be this time...after that, he will be placed on naltrexone to block the effects of opiate meds and to help reduce his craving...I know that it worked for him while he took it, he was clean for 4 months until he decided to take percocet and then of course went back to using oxy's...the detox went smoothly...what he needed to do was all the other things his doctor had recommended he do, such as, stop hanging around with people that are using, go to some sort of counseling or meetings, join the gym, stop smoking pot and other things as well...unfortunately he didn't do any of it...this time around he still hasn't stopped smoking pot..he says he wants to and has "planned" to a couple of times in the past week...To anyone trying to detox or anyone that knows someone that needs to be detoxed, the buprenorphine works, but they need to make sure they do everything else that their doctor recommends if they want to give themself a better chance of staying off of this horrible drug... I hope and pray that this can be beaten before things get worse and there isn't another opportunity....Good luck and God Bless
